Frame Mounted Fuel filter

A handy tip I figured out, since I couldn't find a 36mm socket and channel locks dont work since I have 4 wheel drive (puts the driveline right in the way and you cant get any stroke with them) is a band type oil filter wrench. It fits right on the cap and worked very well

Your better off with the socket. Since you are so far away from good parts houses you don't need to be busting fuel or oil caps.

Lisle makes the proper sized socket and most autoparts stores sell them for $6 or $8.

How are you going to retorque the cap without a socket? Checker sells a 36mm socket. And it's less than $10.

Stick with a socket, I broke the cap to the engine compartment fuel filter on my truck with a square drive, little robbers at ford made me cough up $62 for a new one, i even checked autoway and they wanted $67.
