i would assume 10 inches. you may be able to squeeze in 8 inch lift with 42s. Especially if you arent worried about changing the front fenders.

I'd say 8" lift if you're ok with cutting up your front fenders to accommodate the 42's. I'd probably go with a 10" to be safe still knowing the fenders will need attention. Even with a flat deck I'm not sure if the rears would have enough clearance with an 8".

Bushwacker cutouts are going to be your best bet for a fender trim, I'd say put in an 8" lift, your turning radius is going to be crap, but it always is on a leaf spring front end. And you're going to have to lift the back some, unless you want a 4" nose high pre-runner stance. Deaver springs are the best front and back, IMO.

Gear wise you're going to want to look into 4.88s, maybe 5.13s to go back to a close-to-stock/ just-past-stock setup. You're probably going to need to get new drive shafts made, and I hope that you're planning on putting some new brakes behind those wheels. Depending on how much power all your mods are making, you also might want to look into a shaft upgrade, I'm pretty sure the stock D50 inners have a bottleneck, and those tires are going to be putting a lot of stress on the front end. Other than that, maybe check the power steering because those tires are going to be a beast to turn.

I've been thinking about cutouts with my 4" lift, but probably won't go bigger than 38s for tire cost and so I don't have to regear again.

Ditto on what everyone has said:

Fender cutouts will give you plenty of room: 8" lift with 40-42's should be just fine.

I have a 10.5" Donahoe Racing lift, and I have pushed the front bumper out 1", and I am fine with 39.5's with 20" wheels.

Before I pushed the front bumper out, My 38's (15.5" wide) rubbed the front bumper.

I'm thinking of taking the front bumper off and putting on an ARB or something up there, so I can fit 44's. Then gear to 4.56 - 5.38 or something near there.

cartmanea - thanks. bumper/fender, it's all the same, right? JK. I'm at work & not really concentrating on my verbage.

P.S. Can I discuss EGR Cooler Delete/Blocking, or is that something that will get my post (or me) banned here on this forum. I got shot down hard (last night) on another forum for asking an EGR Cooler Delete question. It appears socaps.com has active discussions on this topic, and some related to CA Diesel Smogging presently being enforced.

I'm guessing you mean the front bumper, not the fender.
