I have a 96 windstar here that has a Huge draw(7.1 amp) on the battery when the key is off. . It is in the circuit that controls the gem module ,( cooling fan circuit fuse also) You can turn on the wipers when the key is off , I 'm thinking GEM module itself .Any opinions ?....I'm also unsure of its location ...

 

Most of the switching (gem control) are grounds.
Check this first rick. IP panel.
Fuse #2, 5A, Hot only in start mode.
Fuse #21, 10A, Hot only in run.
Fuse #12, 10A, Hot only in acc and run.
Fuse #19, 10A, hot 24hr.

If above checks good go under the hood and remove
the speed and run relay's for the wipers.
Check to see if you lost the load (batt drain).

Above will give an idea on where to go next.

Check the 96/99 DVD U sent me.
It has all U need.
CCRM controls fans.
GEM controls wipers.

CCRM is under the hood on the drivers side by the headlamp.
The DRL is to the right of it.
GEM is under the dash left side of the column.

Which fuse pulled kills the load?(7amp)

K & J maxi ....K is for low speed cooling fan , j is for 1 7 18 19 25 81 87 mini...

I have K & J as IP feeds and B & H for fans.
Check to be shure.
Fuse 19 from J is a gem feed.
GEM controls a bunch of crap.

No owners manual , got the info from Ford , yes , 19 is gem module...

that you sent me? It has all the info you need.

I would not rule the GEM as bad just yet.
