Swapping your bulbs for Silverstars is a quick and cheap upgrade.
You can also swap a brighter bulb in for your for fogs as well.
After that, you can put in 05 style headlights, most people say they see improvement with that design, but you have to do a little surgery on your truck.
aftermarket HIDs are another option, kits around $200. probably some brands listed if you search - fit and finish can be an issue with some kits.

I swapped out 80w/100w to Hella bulbs on my headlights. not sure if they are available in the 05 bulb style but they were only about $20 each via amazon or ebay..
For fog lights I run 100 watt Blue Eye bulbs which are awesome.. they are coated to eliminate glare from rain fog snow and really illuminate wet pavement well. again they are about $20 per bulb... they are sealed beam so u have to change the 4" housing that you would find on rubber housed utility lights at any auto parts stores or harbor freight... pics in my album

Do you have part numbers for the bulbs you used? I ran Hella lights and 80/100 bulbs on my 740 volvo wagon they were great. My understanding was that they were too hot and would not work with the "plastic" lenses. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Pictures too.
