Need help for my 97!!

I have a 97 F250 7.3 PSD. About a month ago it lost power to gas pedal when coming to a stop. It lasted about 3 seconds and then regained power and truck drove fine. It happened again about 3 days ago and lasted a little longer. THe engine doesn't die it just had no power. Pressed gas pedal 3-4 times and nothing happened. Then the truck drove just fine. While this happened the check engine light came on and the overdrive button on the gear shifter was lit and said off. I have heared several things like the throttle position sensor is going out or the cam position sensor might be going bad. Can somebody help me in my troubles. Thanks in advance!!

no scanner, but took truck up to Auto Zone and their code reader could not read anything due to the check engine light not on at the time. So not sure of what to replace or check.

Sounds like a sticking IVS.
Flush it out with some electrical contact cleaner.
IVS and TPS are on the pedal.
