Dash lights, horn & Stereo dont work?
I just got a 1990 f250 4x4 about a month ago and am not sure how long this has been a problem.
The dash lights for the speedo, tach etc don't work unless I turn the dial all the way to the left and it makes "click" like it should be to turn on the dome light, also the dome light doesn't work at all either. All the gauges and wipers work.
Also the stereo doesn't turn on and when I try to use the horn it makes a "clicking" noise from what sounds like the passenger side of the truck?
Ocassionally when I try to start the truck, it won't do anything, all the gauges and the buzzer work but it won't start, if I let it sit for about 5 seconds and try again it works no problem.
I've checked all the fuses under the dash, are there anymore fuses to check or relays? If so where are they?
Thanks
DJ

check your fuses, i have a f150 4x4 of the same year my dash lights just went out, i got into the fuse box found 3 fuses blown, a green 30(dash), a blue 15 for my horn, and a random i still have no clue about but i changed it anyway a white 25, i have an aftermarket deck in my truck so when i was splicing all the wires a negative and a positive touched somewhere and blue out my dash lights..all i know maybe check to see if the fuse relays under the fuse box arent rusted? ive heard of that...and with the horn issue if you do any offroading id just do an inspection of the horn itself as after i go mudding/trail-riding they get clogged really easy and dont work...hope that helped sry for the length

check the relays under the hood on drivers side... There is also a fuse box there... The fuses can get loose or coroded and not make good contact.... Been there done that... Pull every one of them check them and then make sure there getting a good contact... Mine was doing the EXACT same thing after sitting a few months... Checked all the fuses and found a few with bad contacts... Replaced fuse, problem solved...

Thanks for the suggestions, I didn't see a fuse block under the hood, but I wasn't looking very hard, I'll check em all out and see if that helps. Thanks again.
For the horn I just read that there is a relay under the dash or on the passenger side near the door that will probably be the culprit.

I just picked up a 92 F150...with several small electrical problems. First thing to do is remove the fuses, and clean the fuse boxes and check, clean up and replace the fuses...alot of dust gets into the fuse panels. This fixed about everything. Most electrical problems are due to poor contacts or ground.
