Ok, so today at work i was picking up a rental truck, it was a newer international 4300. Before i left the place to take the truck back to work, the mechanic came out and said, If the A/C warning light comes on and the a/c doesnt work when you first start it this is how you get it to work. First press on the air break, then turn on the left turn signal, then push the cruise control "on" button while pushing the cruise control "set" button, this should fix it so the A/C works. He then said, yep its kind of funny but International says its "normal" to have to do this.....
just thought this was funny and i'd pass it along lol.
Now who on earth was the first one who figured that one out?
Probably was getting all frustrated in the cab, started pushing every button and pulling every lever, and all of the sudden: "Hey! I think the AC works now!"

haha, I should send that to a buddy of mine. He just took their new International in to have the A/C fixed and was told by the mechanics that it was all computer controlled or some crap like that. Way to over engineer the system...

I would imagine most of the newer all computer controlled vehicles have hidden Easter eggs to by-pass defective sensors and such, especially for testing.

LOL I was working on an older Lincoln once - The air ride wasn't working properly and one of the tests from the shop manual was to open and close the drivers door, depress brake, etc, etc, etc...
