Replacement V10

Well I bought a 2005 F350 8 months ago and took on hollidays pulling my trailer and on the way home blew the motor. The motor had 200 000 km and 5050 running hrs. How hard is it to pull and put a new one in?

Define "blew the motor"-you might only need a repair to the existing engine.
Otherwise-replacement isn't too bad,just time consuming.

I can drive it but it blows black smoke. It didn't like to idle but seemed okay at highway speed. The shop I took it too said that they have never seen spark plugs like that. The check engine light came on and it had a loss of power. I did have o2 senser problems and had it reset before I took it on hollidays. The counter persons last words "if it come back n you'll burn a bit more fuel but you wont blow your motor".

Sounds like the truck has an excessive fuel delivery issue to me.
What codes was it showing exactly...the number-not a description.

does the engine make "mechanical noises" while running ??? like knocking/banging ???

if it actualy turns over and runs without throwing a rod throu the block it might not be that bad of a repair...

i'd get a second estimate before swapping the entire engine out...

You can come pull the V10 outta my 05 if you want. It'll give me a good reason to do a Cummins conversion.
