my starter on my 76 f-100 custom has went bad .i wanna put the later model mini starter on it my question is ,is this a direct replacemnt or does the the bendics have to be changed or is it the same

 

I just did this to my 429 auto, its a bolt in unit, with minor wiring change. I ordered one for a 92-97 F-250 with a 460 auto(I just asked for a 94). It bolted in with the original bolts and works excellent!
I've never heard of having to change the bendix for this swap-so your good to go. This one did come with a 10tooth gear-just in case you are wondering. Hard starts from a heatsoak are history-wish I woulda done this along time ago.
