Computer Question

Hey guys, I got my tranny done and it started acting up so I took it back to the tranny guy. He hooked all the scanners and stuff back up and took it out for 30 miles and said everything was working but my computer was not reading the TC lock-up or temps on the tranmission. He said that I might have to get a more programmable computer since I'm going to mod the truck a lot or try to replace the fuel injection pump lever? So my question is does anyone know where I can get a better computer than the stock one?

Any help would be great, thanks
greg

Your tranny guy doesn't really know what he is talking about. If the PCM can't see TC lock or temps you either have a soleniod body, or wiring problem or the PCM may be bad but that just means you need a new one not an upgraded one. My guess is that you have a wiring problem or if the tranny was just replaced the soleniod body has issues.

TJ, this is what the tranny is doing. When the enigne gets up to operating temp (takes awhile) if i hit the gas nice and smooth the transmission gets hung up at 20mph and the RPM's wines all the way out until i let go of the gas then it shifts. Other than that it shifts real nice and firm. It only does when its at operating temp, never when cold. He told me that the temp was 185 and he ran hard to see if it would do the problem i am telling you now. Maybe I misunderstood him

Sounds to me like the 1 to 2 valve in the accumulator body is sticking. that is a pretty common problem with the E4OD's. I don't know what the fix for it is though
