Window Regulator??

Window Regulator??
The truck is a 2001 Lariat supercab.
Issue is my drivers side window hits slow (sometimes dead) spots when going up and down. I have sprayed silicon on the tracks, but that doesn't seem to help much. I have noticed that in real rainy weather it works better.
I have also noticed that the window will **** (front drops) roughly 0.25 inch when you change directions (down to up), and may stall at that point. If I pull the window back (towards rear of truck) it starts to go fine.
So, my question is, does this sound like the regulator? If so, how much of a job is it to replace? Any unique things to know ahead of time?
Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure how the Ford's work, but I have multiple issues in other vehicles and they seem to be roughly the same. In the other cases, something had come un-done in the regulator and bent the scissor frame the window rides in. It took a good bit of effort to re-shape them and make them work, but in both cases I managed it. You might look inside there to make sure all the pieces are still bolted together right. If something is loose you would save a lot of time catching it early.

I've been dealing with a similar issue. I rolled the passenger window down on my '99 F150, and it wouldn't roll back up. It had been working fine. I thought it was the motor; Actually, a fairly simple process. Basically, you take out 2 screws and lift the door panel UP and it comes off. Gently peel off the rubberized inner lining, and remove the speaker to get the lining off completly. Also, remove the inner portion of the window rubber on the top of the window sill so you can see down inside.
Removing the regulator would be extremely difficult, as far as I could tell; it's rivited in there with steel rivets. However, by removing the panel and liner, you should be able to easily apply silicone to the entire window track with the window up, and you might see if that works.
You can get the regulator at Autozone; will set you back about $60.
