napa 6637 filter

How about some of you folks out there giving up some of your reliable sources for these filters and or their counterparts......the cheapest ones.......where to get them....the secrets of getting these things cheap........so the rest of us don't have to search around to get the cheaper ones.....or if someone knows of a super deal.............I'm not the smartest person on earth but it seems that when you look at this filter.........you wonder where the gold plating is.......what makes it worth all that extra money.........cept for the fact that all the dieselers are after it.

its only a 30 dollar filter, no gold plating, but it does stop the dirt from getting to the turbo, something a stock airbox cannot, and the cost to make the whole air intake far outweighs the cost of a name brand, out-of-the-box unit. napa carries the filter in stock, they are used on mid sized cummins engines

about thirty bucks after shipping from fleetfilter.com. 50 from napa. that's all i know. if you want, you can xref it on baldwin's website. i did that cause i was going to get the CAT equivalent, but even with my discount it was more expensive.

I don't think the 6637 is much more money than the stock junk filter is....

Edit- The 6637 is $10 more from fleet filter than the stock air filter. But hey atleast it stops some dirt! The 6637 is $27.33 plus shipping. Buy two its cheaper than buing one at a time.

Mike:
You have been a member of this forum (FTE) for two (2) years and I challenge you to name one (1) incident where a member wrote a thread saying
"I got a great deal on (You name the item) but I'm not telling anyone where")

This is the most helpful, sharing group of diesel owners that you will find anywhere. The secret to some of this is that you take the responsabilty to save some of the locations that offer items that you will/may need for the future. This is two fold, you have the info and you are able to pass it on when someone asks where to locate the item at a lower price.

I think that it would have been to your benifit mearly to start a thread and ask rather than accuse the forum of not assisting you and others.

The above is mearly my humble opinion based on my experance with this group.

???????????

I didn't mean anything off the wall concerning my post......just asking for a little help.......you know if I knew of a good place to get something and someone asked I would accomodate them best I could........why reinvent the wheel if someone else has already been there........I sure wasn't asking to get attacked.........maybe I am just a little backward.....never claimed to be to smart.
