Mag-Hytec Transmission pan

Guys, I was thinking about getting a Mag-Hytec Transmission pan for my 2005 Super Duty V10 with the Torque Shift Tranny, question is that is it worth $350 and does it really extend the life on my tranny?
Would like to get one for my 2000 Expedition too.
I dont tow with the Expedition even though it has the tow package.
Thanks ~Gage~

I got my trans pan from these guys: Your Covers
It has been on the truck for 2 years and I have had ZERO problems with it. Cheaper, too.

I have one on my 02 F-350
I bought it almost month after owning my new truck!
go for three piece set, front diff, rear diff and tranny pan
I went that route
change out the fluids, too with Synthetic fluid

I can't see it doing anything that will have any effect on the life of the trans.

i agree mark
In race transmissions we run deeper panson the trans that hold more fluid.
But not adding the extra fluid.
say its a +2 qts pan.so stock pan would hold 5 qts deep pan 7qts we run 4.
the deeper pan allows you to run the same or a less whith keeping the fluid lower in the pan.some windage is lost and the fluid heats up faster.
We do the same with oil pans for the engine a stock pan with 5 qts may be say 2.5 inches from the gasket rail.and ill build a pan that will hold 18Qts 2.5 iches from the gasket rail.and we'll run 8 in the pan

I have gone the "three cover" route. One thing I like is that the covers come ready for a temp probe, which I have in all three. With the extra fluid you will not heat up like you would with the OEM pan. I don't tow, but I've never seen over about 145*F on mine. If you have gages you can wire in multiple probes to the tranny temp gage through a selector switch. That way you can look at any of the inputs on that one gage....

I just have the Mag-Hytec diff cover front and rear on my Super Duty, but I wasnt able to install the front one because it looks like it would hit my track bar. But if I get my truck liftted it would clear it. I do have a temp probe in the rear diff cover. Still on working on getting the Tranny cover, but have to find a job first.

Wow those guys are good, I ordered it in the evening and got it the next day. I wanted to order both the trans and the diff cover but money is a little tight.

Whoops, wish I had seen this earlier.

I think I remember Captchas in the V10 forum saying he had done this, and had to chop up the y-pipe to get it to fit. With the cats in it, it's a $1200 piece of pipe I think he said.

You might want to search around the V10 forum about that.

I have a B&M, but BD diesel has one that looks a lot like Mag Hy-tech's. I think BD was a little cheaper too.
