Question Flip screen / CD player in 81 F100

Has anyone else installed a flip screen in a dash of these trucks (80-86).
Is there an aftermarket mount to replace the entire center dash section ?
Any info is appreciated.

I installed a CD Player that the face comes out and slides down in my 86 F-150. I'll have to get a picture and upload it. I don't know if our dashes look exactly the same or not.

Is the flip screen deck the same size as a regular deck? If so just get the center peice ou of a 85 or 86, With mine I had to cut this piece back to the molding and add another piece of plastic behinde. I then added a brace in behinde to support the deck. Just look in my gallery

Edit with the way I did mine both the alpine DIN size 1 and DIN 2 would fit. DIN 2 would just have a little less plastic around it

I dont know of any kit that will replace the vertical trim panel (the black and wood one) but any stereo shop should have an install kit (most likely Metra) that mounts to the OE location for holding a single din radio, maybe with minor shaving of the hole in the trim plate.

The problem with your 81 is the size of the hole in the trim panel its meant to fit the old radio with the ***** off to the sides(to tall and narrow to fit regular deck). If your installing the DIN 2 sterio you might only have to widen the hole

We need some more info like wich deck you want and wich radio is in it now?
