Shocked an Appalled...
As you all know there are a few Ford community sites out there. I registered at one of these other sites because, well, I LOVE MY BRONCO. Everyone likes to belong to a community of ppl that have similar interests and maybe want to learn more or gain insight and what not.
I'll leave the site unnamed but here's my story. Naturally, I tried to register as 'BroncoBabe' and of course it's taken. So I enter '1BroncoBabe'- sweet! that one worked.
So I post and introduce myself, "Hi, I'm Leilani....
I hope to learn some stuff here on your site, yada yada yada...." I get some hello's and some welcome's, the usual stuff and then someone claiming to be the (uh ehm) "ONLY BroncoBabe round here and.... why dont you change your username." S'cuze me?
I'm not one for drama or catty behavior. I did ask her to clarify if she was asking me to change my username and she said, "No, I was telling you." Yes, I was dumbfounded because of how childish this 27 yo woman was behaving. Others on the thread posted, "CAT FIGHT, CAT FIGHT!" and I blow her off.
I could really careless since all I wanted was to nose around and see what I can learn about my rig, right?
Then I notice I have a private message.
It's from the owner of the site and I quote:
Hello, can you please consider another username, we have a BroncoBabe already and I'd like to (try and) prevent any confusion or potential conflicts
thanks for your understanding

Is it just me or is that just rediculous?
andym get's home and I give him the skinny. He tells me this would never happen at FTE, and why heck would I "join THAT site when you know darn well.... blah blah blah".
So here I am. I wish I had come here in the first place. I'm pretty darn glad to be here, too.

It used to be the same thing happen back in the 70's when it came to CB Radio Handles.
People thought they OWNED their Nickname and no one else could have it.
It also happens at Karaoke Bars..people complain that someone else is Singing Their Song
I do have one request though.
Please don't post using code (especially so small).
It's best to just let the FTE Default font do its thing so we can All read the posts.

I know what site your talking about, I'm an infrequent (very infrequent with 37 posts in almost 3 years) poster there. From what I have seen the "real" Broncobabe is a nice person, but she just gets all bent out of shape when someone uses her name. This is not the first time it has happened either. I think I can remember at least 3 other times. I really cant understand her, she just has something against all the women there but she loves all the guys to death
I am very suprised dsotmoon sent you that private mesage though. I didn't think he would stoop that low.
Its still a good site for technical help, I would even say the best for Broncos. Just try to steer clear of the BS
