2008 Differential cover

A couple of weeks back someone stated that the 2008 trucks had a finned differiential cover that sold for around $40.00. Does anyone recall this or have the part number for it??

I don't think that it was a seperate thread, but more of a comment that was made through conversation that drifted towards that area.

Thank you Sir. This is exactly what I was searching for, now I'll find out what Calif. Stealerships will charge.

I bought one of the finned, aluminum covers today from a Calif. Ford dealer for $45.30 +tax. #8C3Z-4033-A

I had to order it as it was not in stock. I did crawl under a new '08 super duty F250. The number that was cast on that cover was BC-34-4033 AA
The parts guy said that what was ordered was one and the same, that the number that is cast is not the exact part number. I'll just have to wait and see.

I got a glimps at the invoice and Fords price is $27.00 and change.
(For what it's worth)

the number on the part is called an "ID" number, it can be used to cross to the good part number though so it does have some use.
here is what she looks like installed

nope, nobody beleives me that the picture you are refrenseing had no effects on that gate, once i climbed down she was fine. the dent on this truck was there when i bought it, from the looks the idiot didnt have the ball sitting right on the trailler and the tongue popped up and smacked it.
actually neal, this picture here was taken same day the diff cover went on and notice the same crease is on it as my old truck, its not present in the first diff pics. metal has memory, its quite flexible till you actually kink it.

for everybody else, here's what neal is makin fun of....

That first pic doesn't seem to be that much of an incline. But I guess it doesn't take much to warp the tailgate.
