Ok guys here it comes. Some of the new 08 superduties have aluminum finned diff covers. Ok big deal. well they are cheap!!! list price is like $58 or something like that. Wholesale is $35. I ordered two. One for me and one for my dads 03. Here is the thread from the upperdeck

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/6...ear-axles.html

As you can see in the thread I was sceptical but it is confirmed. Aluminum finned cover for cheap!

WOW thats really cool! $240 for the aftermarket magtec.

Fordparts.com has them for $33 + $10 shipping! I might get 2 also one for me and one for my dads 04, its almost time for it to be changed anyways.

Just ordered 2 covers and the new cps for $90. It feels like my birthday!

Holy poo! That cps from fordparts.com is only $15 and a finned aluminum diff cover for $33!?!? In the mail! I should order an extra just for the heck of it.
Don't stop now Tim. You're on a roll.

Hmmmm . . . the '08 trans pans aren't finned are they? Guess they wouldn't fit if they were.

These alum ones look nice I think. My stocker has leaked for 8 years now, this is a great excuse to fix it and get some fresh fluid in there.

Pleading a complete lack of knowledge about different versions of rear diffs, I will dare to ask the question:
This bad boy will fit a '97 HD?
If so, I'll be logging on to that site tomorrow am.

Yep, the sterling 10.25 (our trucks) and 10.5 (superdutys) have the same covers.

So has anyone actually received this cover yet to confirm it is the finned cover and not just a stamped steel cover?
Also, whats the part number on a '96 CPS?
