I completely forgot about all you EX owners. I don't know if you guys have caught wind of this but read through the posts.

Yep, ill be ordering one of these monday probably. There will probably be a nice national backorder once the word gets out some more lol.

Heres a stupid Q i still cant figure out. Is there 2 different axles, one a 10.25 and one a 10.5? Which trucks got what? Whats under my excursion? I wanna say 10.25, but i keep hearing about these 10.5s whats the deal?

Look at the tag. If it has a 10 25, it's a 10.25. If it has a 10 50, then it's a 10.5.

There has been confusion for some time about who has what.

I wouldn't think Ford changed the rear axle for any model year EX's.

Yes, I've seen that PDF. However, I've seen "claims" that guys have swapped out their gears only to find 10.25 stamped on the ring gear. This for both the SD & the Excursion. And at the same time have seen other have theirs say 10.50.

We all know it is spec'd as a 10.5 Sterling full-floating axle but seeing these weird things creates confusion.

In the End, it doesn't really matter. Knowing that Toyota's half-ton has a 10.5 ring gear makes realize that my axle may not be all that special. And as long as it works I don't really care what size it is.

The cover should fit either the 10.25" or 10.5" rear axle housing..........

Is the part # 8C32-4033-A as I saw on Brians MY Site in his sig or is it 8C34-4033-A as I saw in a post from tjbeggs. Also what would be the difference?
