Heres a stupid Q i still cant figure out. Is there 2 different axles, one a 10.25 and one a 10.5? Which trucks got what? Whats under my excursion? I wanna say 10.25, but i keep hearing about these 10.5s whats the deal?

I wouldn't think Ford changed the rear axle for any model year EX's.

We all know it is spec'd as a 10.5 Sterling full-floating axle but seeing these weird things creates confusion.
In the End, it doesn't really matter. Knowing that Toyota's half-ton has a 10.5 ring gear makes realize that my axle may not be all that special. And as long as it works I don't really care what size it is.
