Question 58'-60' Grille guard

Can any one tell me where to find a factory grille guard? Is there a blueprint of it?

I have one. What would you like to know about it?

Sure, I'll check the size this weekend. The only problem I can think of is the 2 uprights just inside the headlamps are an odd U-shape as I recall. They might be difficult to make but maybe you can substitute something else. There are also 2 braces which diagonal to the frame through 2 holes in the lower valence panel.

The original material that was used is rather thick strips of steele, say about 1/2" thick, 3" in width & the one I have weighs over 100lbs.

Really they made it taht thick and heavy?? well not a problem I think I have a place that can bend that up, BUT I might thin it down to 1/4" to save some weight I have plenty of it in the front right now. Thanks guys for all your input.

'58-'60 Grille Gaurd

Col Flashman, you may have a HD version designed for the larger trucks. The perimeter of the one I have is made of 5/16" X 1 1/2" strap curved slightly to match the curve of the bumper. I was incorrect about the u-shaped material, it was used on all the upright and cross braces in 2 different sizes. It's still pretty heavy but less than 100 pounds. This was original to the truck when my father purchased it new in 1958 so I'm 99% confident it's the Ford accessory. I added two pictures in an album titled "1958 Grille Gaurd", the partial view shows the u-shaped (more correctly, it's a bullet-nose shape) better. It was in much better condition before my stepfather left it outside without telling me.
