Window Switch Lighting

1) I have a 2004EB on the drivers door all switches light up except the window lockout. Should it?
2) On the passenger front door only the door unlock switch lights and not the window switch.
3) On the rear doors the window switches do not light. Should they?

Thanks in advance

I have a 2000 Limited, and i dont think my window lockout lights up. I don't believe there it is supposed to, but Im not 100% sure. If its supposed to, then I need to fix that too. all the other switches should light up, but I have no idea how to go about fixing them. sorry.

there is really only 1 way to fix the unlighted switches.....replace the switches. and no, the window lock switch should not light. on mine, its a blue wire on the switch. check it for power first. if no power, then you have another problem. if you have power at the blue wire, then its the switch..

pozman...sounds like you have the window lock switch in the "lock" position. The light switches for the other three doors are only illuminated when the switch is unlocked. Wait until dark and flip the switch back and forth...you'll see what I mean.

I thought it was pretty cool...but then again, I'm easily amused.

Unhappy window switches do stay lit

oh, the thing with the window switches only on when the switch is unlocked, not true at all. i think that there is something wrong with yours if it does that. but then again, mine is an 01. maybe newer ones are different. but i dont think so...

I have an '04 EB and the lights on the window switches do turn off when they are locked out. Tried it today, never thought about that before but appearently some Ford engineer did.

2004 SCREW 50K mi-Some switches in both my overhead console (operates sunroof) as well as driver door (windows) do not illuninate. Does entire switch need replacing? If so according to RACERX775; Are these switches sold A-La_cart or in set? Is a better aftermarket available? From whom?

My Window Lights Go Out On All But The Drivers Door When In The Lockout Position, I Think They Started That In The 2004 Model Year. My 2001 Excursion Did Not Have That Feature.
