2002 Lariat SuperCrew FX4
Spotted it yesterday at a local used dealer. I stopped in for a test drive and fell in love.
It's a white 2002 F-150 SuperCrew Lariat FX4. Very nice and very clean.
Only a little over 67,000 miles. Everything is perfect on it. No leaks, scratches, dents, etc.
It has leather, power everything, climate control, power adjustable pedals, etc.
They're asking $18,900. If I can get it for $17,500, it's mine.
What do ya'll think?
Anything specific I should look for?
Any common problems with these trucks?
Also, what transmission did they use for this year?
And finally, what fuel mileage should I expect from it?
Thanks!

coils
Same here I had have 3 of 8 coils replaced a month after I bought mine, they say its pretty common on these trucks, I own a 2000 Lariat V8 5.4 L very nice truck and in very good shape it had 82,000 miles and runs like a dream. I only paid 11,800 lol I really talked them down, Well I was paying cash.

I just got an 02 F150 Supercrew Lariat 4X4 last Thursday. It has a bit more mileage - 146,000 Kil so about 85 to 90 K miles. It is a 5.4 and has all of the bells and whistles. Leather, climate control, adjustable pedals etc. I paid $16,600 Canadian dollars. It has a couple of scratches and a small dent or two but nothing really bad.
I bought a 98 F150 short box regular cab 4X4 with a 4.2 and a manual transmission last year in early September. I have put about 17K kil or 10K miles on it in the past year without any problems and it had 161K Kil or about 98K miles on it when I got it. I liked it and that is one of the reasons why I bought this one. The Supercrew rides better and is much quieter. So far I really like it. I have only put about 300 miles on it so far but I really think it is going to be a good one. I kept the 98 and my younger son is driving it now.

Well, deal didn't go...
I went back and drove it again. Drove out fine, just as the first time...
But, I stopped at a little 'ol country church and gave it the walk-around. I noticed that the driver's-side foglight was pushed back. The mount was bent back on it. Also, the plastic "center" of the front bumper was cracked, as if someone had tapped a low pole or something to make the light bend in.
It did still come on, though.
When I got back to the dealer, we sat down to begin negotiating. He told me $18,750 was the lowest he could take. I then explained the foglight problem, and he still wouldn't knock any off.
I told him that he was going to have to come down quite a bit, or I was walking. He asked what I'd give. I told him $17,000, (Just to give me some play-room). He began laughing! I immediately threw the keys on his desk, got up, and walked out. He followed behind with an $18,100-price. I kept walking. When I finally got to the car, he told me $17,850.
I then told him sorry... $17,500 or nothing. He then walked back into the building, not saying a single word! lol.
That was the most hilarious price-negotiating deal I've ever been through!
Thanks for all of the replies, though! Better luck next time, I guess.

To bad you're in Tenn, I have a 02 Lariat Screw 4X4 with 30,000 miles. (Bought it new in 03) with everything, even my favorite option the power rear window!! Just put almost a grand in the brakes. Dealer is willing to give me $17,000 on a trade I'd let you have it for $18. Only put a few deer in the bed!!!!
