Well the search function seems to be wigging out so I'll just post up. I went to start checking why my gauge lights didn't work. When I pulled the gauge cluster the whole thing disintegrated into about 50 million little while plastic pieces. Now I need to replace the whole cluster. Only problem is, how do I disconnect the speedometer cable? All I can really tell that is holding it in is some kind of white clip. Once again thanks for any help -Rob

1978 F-250 4x4 C6 400 Standard Cab

 

At the bottom of the steel housing of the end of the speedometer cable is a clip. Press on the clip, forward (towards the rear of the truck) and slip the housing off.
