Gutless 4.6L??

hey fellas new to the forums, i have a 2003 F-150 with a 4.6L with 80 000 kms on it and it seems so gutless...... i do regular maintainence on it and i take care of it really well...... i swear this truck had more ***** when i first bought it....... the modifications i did was dual exhaust out of the manifolds, and a K&N air filter..... the truck just seems like it sucks in air i dunno has no jam to it...... bought a tuner and a cold air hoping that might help the cause but any help would be appreiciated......

Welcome to the forums. Any new plugs put in this truck. That could make a big difference. So what are we talking about. Reg cab, extended cab, crewcab. Tire size axle ratio. Fill me in.

35's? Thats a tall tire for 3.08 gears in the rear. Putting bigger meat on really robs a truck from a lot of low end grunt. If you want your truck to feel like new again I would suggest at least 4.10 or the 4.30 range, although i would probably head with 4.56 that would give the truck pretty good jump off the line although you might not like the rpm's when cruising on the highway. Check out www.ringpinion.com for info. The price for parts and labor runs fairly steep to but i dont have any hard numbers except for that its north of $1000.

Man I surpised you get any power out off that tuck at all with that setup an tires. That gear ratio is way to high for them tires. 4:10s an 4:30s definitly a must or back to the smaller standard tires for the truck. Sorry until you make those changes your going to lack power big time.
