I have a 1988 F-250 that I just had a rebuilt 460 installed. When they did the rebuild I had them install a Summit low RPM cam. This truck has 4:10's a K&N, no catalytic converters, and about a 1500 lb. pop-up camper. I use it to pull a snowmobile/ATV trailer and on its first trip (after a 2k break-in) I got 5.5 mpg and it was kicking into 2nd at 45mph on small uphills. (it is an auto with a C-6) A real pooch. I then ordered a Hypertech Chip-then called the company to find out that the chip will NOT work with any modified engine! I have not installed the chip yet but know that I can get more performance. SInce I can't find anyone with first hand knowledge of "tuning" a 460-I am counting on you guys! What do I do?
