stripped header bolt

i have f150 woth the 4.6 and a stripped header bolt. i was looking for any good ways to fix it. i know i can drill and tap it. i was told about a plug type kit. you screw in the plug and then you can screw in the bolt. so any info into these two fixes or any extra fixes i don't know about will be very helpful. thanks for all the shared information.

i mean the header to head. it is on the font bottom on the drivers side. my friend told me of a kit with a drill bit and a sleve. you drill it out and install sleve. the sleve is groved for the old bolt. i just did not know how well they work. i sounds alot like a drill and tip. i can use a drill and tip with a larger bolt. i am just looking for the best fix. thanks.

i fixed the stripped out header bolt. it did not fix my problem. being right at the drivers side exhaust, i started the truck. no noise. i let it warm up for about 5 or 6 mins. then i started putting a little throttle to it. the sound kicked in. i went to the exhaust and i finail could tell. the noise was comming from the intake at the filter. i changed the intake elbow a few months back and have not had any problems until now. if i have a leak at the egr, throttle body or elbow will sound like a exhaust leak? or do i have a major problem? i going to check the egr tomarrow. if that is not it. i am going to replace the elbow gasket. it that doesn't do it, then i don't know what i am going do. any help will be extremely nice. thanks again.

If it is leaking at the manifold to egr tube or one of the two lines to the egr sensor, it will sound like a header leak.

i tested just about everything two or three times. after about 3 hours, it seemed to be the iac or egr. i changed the iac first based on the price and how easy it was to change. i changed it and there has been no problems. i am still unsure of how it made the sound i was hearing. the one i removed looked just fine. but i am not going worry about. it works now. thanks for all the advise i have received.
