Aftermarket Head and Fog replacement bulbs

I've been doing the aftermarket research for hyperwhite and other replacement bulbs for our 04 and 05 150's. From the people I have talked to I have learned some interesting things. The 9008 headlight bulbs are known as H13's and are beginning to show up on the market. And just the other day I noticed that near the bottom of the headlight there is a small "H13" printed on the lens of the lights, so it must be true. I've located a dealer on the net that is sending them to me at the end of the month.

Question: I've been told that the H10's are compatible with the foglights. Is this true? The Watts are 55, only 13 higher than the stock 9145's, will this work?

i don't think there is a direct replacement for the 9145 bulbs. I think most, including myself, are using the 9005 silverstars for the fogs. they make a big difference IMO.

the headlights are h13. i think the only aftermarket replacement is the xtravision by sylvania. i have read mixed reviews about the xtravisions. where did you find replcaent bulbs for the headlights?

i searched the internet and the website www.sportcompactonly.com came up. I know, i questioned the search but gave it a try.... sure enough, they have replacement bulbs by a company called 'Nokya'. This is the same website I found the H10's for the fogs. The cost for a pair of either is 19.99 and there is no shipping... I got the fogs today and they were shipped on the 11th. Fast. But the H13 will be shipped late this month, considering they are now just becoming available. Not sure if they are a quality bulb bot considering the price i figured id give it a try.

The H10's have been installed in the fogs and they are great. I was testing them out tonight and I could use them as driving lights if I wanted. They are everything I hoped for. As for the H13's.... ill let you know.

How did the search come guys?

Thanks for the link to your thread SoConSick. I am still hoping to hold out for projectors. Even if it means rewiring my headlights. Anyone thought of going to an HID Conversion kit?

Here's a link to the thread I started.. hoping to find out about HID and projectors for the 04-05 F-150

For the fogs, I am using standard Sylvania 9005(hight beam bulbs). They are easy to install, just use a dremel or utility knife and trim one of the "teeth" that secures it into the socket. Wrap the bulb with something like saran wrap so you don't touch it. Use the existing bulb as a template to trim the tooth. I found the improvement to be pretty dramatic. The wattage is about 60w instad of the 41w for the stock bulbs. I have had this for over 3 weeks and have not run into any problems so far. If you wanted REALLY bright you could go to Canada to get a Xtravision 9005. They do not sell these in the states. If you were to go higher than 60w I would start to get worried the stock wiring and housing might not be able to take the additional heat.
