H13/9008 Bulb replacement

What do you think is the best bulb to replace my stock headlights in a 2008 F250 SD? I can't afford HID but want something that will give more light than what I have. Anyone know of anything out there? I've had PIAA in the past, but I've noticed that the H13 they have doesn't have the same output boost rating that their other 9000 series bulbs have.

I switched to Sylvania Silver Stars. I don't think the Silver Star Ultra is out in this size yet. The Silver Stars have been much better than the stock lights.

I use Sylvania Silverstars also, they give out more of a whiter light than stock.

You don't want to use a high power H-13 bulb because they have very small pins on the plug that will melt easy.

Plus DOT got pissed with all of the cheap HID and high output bulbs a few years ago. So they limited the coatings that could be used on them. I am glad Piaa has finally come out with them, now I need to get a set and some pigtails. They may not be the highest output, but I haven't had any problems with them washing out like I have had with the cheaper bulbs.

I installed Silver Star Ultras in mine about 6 months ago. They are great.

I'm jealous, I haven't been able to find them anywhere around here.

Have you got a part number or item number you could post? I have looked at Advance, Auto Zone, and several other places but no one shows the Ultras in H13 size. Thanks.

It has been so long ago that I no longer have the packaging or the receipt. I do remember that it was the only package of them on the shelf and they were expensive. About $50.00, if I remember correctly. I got them at AutoZone. When I go home tonight I will look at the bulb and see if I can read the number on it. I had replaced the bulbs in all of my cars with the regular SilverStars and went there looking for them for my truck. I had not seen the ultras before and almost did not get them because of the price, but I am glad that I did because I have been very pleased with them.

If you can find anything, I'd appreciate it. I'm going to Auto Zone later tonight and would love to find some. Thanks.

I've had both Xtravisions and Silverstars and preferred the Xtravisions. The Silverstars 'looked' brighter but the Xtravisions provided more light.

Maybe the Ultras are better?

I just bought SilverStars for my headlights, not Installed yet.

Anyone know what SilverStar bulb I need for the driving lights? Too cold for me to go check right now.

Go to this link. They have a vehicle fit guide you can access to find the bulbs.

The following is from Sylvania's web site. It looks like they don't make the 9008/H13 in the Ultra yet.
Some one was asking about the fog light bulbs also. They're listed about half way down.
Hope this helps.
