my 2003 f-250 6.0l cc 4x4 will hit 30lbs of boost when changes into 3rd gear and going into 4th it dropes to 25lbs and shoots back up and pegs out hard. I have a 4" turbo back exhaust and max microtuner on level 3. I only have a 30lbs boost gauge but getting a bigger one.
I think thats odd that the stock holset on a cummins can handle over 40 and we cant get more than 30.
I probably lead you incorrect, it will handle more that 30 it will handle 35 but not for long or sustained periods of time....it just was not designed to do it...The Cummins designed theirs different....not good or bad right or wrong just different. Because one can handle more does not mean it is more powerful, the methodology to power building on the 6.0 is unique when compared to any other engine out there
With the SCMT on HP mode, my truck tops out at about 35 psi. It will do low 30s in the Econo mode and about 30 in the tow safe mode. Stock it maxed at 25.
Because one can handle more does not mean it is more powerful
what you are saying is correct in one way but wrong in another, depending how you read this. just because the cummins block & heads can handle over 80 psi of boost does not make it more powerful, BUT by putting that 80 psi to it, that is what makes it more powerful. (boost = hp & torque)
Tuff to be incorrect (wrong) when I did not state how to make power...Because one can handle more...My analogy was not about how to make HP it was the different methodology in each company
