McPherson College restoring a '60 F100!

What were the chances that this could happen!!?! We have a 1960 F100 Styleside long bed that just arrived from Tucson, Az. in school now! It's
VIN F10J0R43903, originally Holly Green but pale yellow now, and no engine or trans. I'll post pics as soon as I can get a few....

I told the director that I'm the guy to come see for information and work on this truck because I've got the connections (you guys). Don't know how long it will take, or when we'll start, but I can't wait!!!

Here's my first bit of research of "my" new Effie - who has an original 3 spd. trans laying around, not doing anything? We need one.

Glack - I wish you were closer. I need a Y for my truck. The Engine Rebuilding class already has a Y ready for it as of last semester. They painted it red, which I don't know if it's the right color for '60 Ys. I thought those were black w/red valve covers? I think I have the whole Y block finish list around here somewhere.......

Shhhh! It took me forever and I finally found black block, heads, intake with red valve covers. It's a common mistake and depending on how far the resto is going, not huge deal. -4speed

I have a rebuilt 3 speed trans from a 1956 laying around collecting dust in my garage. You can have it for the cost of shipping from Oklahoma, zip 73170.

I attended that school and my wife is an alum. They started that restoration program shortly after I left to change majors. It is a neat program. My sister does some lectures there at times for teachers.

Some students could bring that tranny back with them from Oklahoma. McPherson Kansas is not very far.

I could take the trans to the Tulsa area when I go visit my grandson. That would get it closer to Kansas. Just let me know when and I can tell you where it can be picked up.

Hey kool. I'll check with the director tomorrow (Wednesday) and see what he says. Tulsa isn't really that far. If they'll reimburse me driving (it is a school parts run after all) then maybe I can come get it over Easter break...

Great, just let me know, and i can run it up to Owasso on a weekend to my daughter's place. Owasso is a few miles north of Tulsa on Hiway 169. We could meet at the Sonic drive-in next to the hiway. I work for Norman Public Schools in Norman OK. Sure wish they had an auto repair course. The Technology Center here doesn't want to work on anything but newer cars. I took auto shop classes in high school in southern Cal. They had a complete machine shop and 3 test engines mounted on permanent stands. We could troubleshoot problems the instructor put in each one. I rebuilt my first Ford engine in that class.
Are you looking for an engine to rebuild? I have 1958 292 block, 1964 heads, etc. Was getting ready to scrap it.
