just curious
new guy here.i recently received this new 1983 ford truck.it is a xlt with woodgrain, tilt ,cruise ,302 auto overdrive, long bed f-150 with dual tanks. it appears to have been garage kept with only 55,000 original miles.a/c blows ice cold and only damage is a spot under the hood.[looks like the battery exploded.]i buffed the original paint out and it looks great. my question is this,how many of these trucks were two toned green with green interior?i can not find any on the internet or junkyards.

i just came back from the junkyard and looked at 40 trucks. none had green interior.all of my interior is almost mint condition except for the door pockets.has any one heard of a xls series?it was a stepside with all of the trim and handles blacked out. looked factory. the dash and radio panel have a smooth silver finish where the woodgrain would be. above the radio it says xls.

FWIW, I've never seen an 80-86 with a green interior. Didn't know it existed until I read this thread!

uncle stosh ,i was planning on putting them in my truck because i don't really like woodgrain. the radio piece has been trimmed well for a newer radio. it is not cut out above for the clock.the truck has tac with trip meter.the tailgate, i believe is gone but there were other stepsides there if the tailgates are the same.i bought a complete true dual exhaust with turbo mufflers for $.40.00. i'm going back tomorrow or monday [found a complete set of american 5 spokes for $45.00] let me know what else you may need.

Hi, I use to do some work for a dealership back in the 80's, the owner got hung up on thr "light spruce/dark spruce combo with the green interior. He order many bronco's and several PU's with this color and one 1-ton with all the green. I saw maybe 10 PU's f-150,f-250 and the 1-ton. I dont think is was very popular, the one you have may have come thru that dealer. I think he got hung on the green because many 79's with the explorer pack had the green paint, they were sharp,but the body change in 80 di not seem to go as well with the green.

everything on the data tag shows it was shipped to a dealership here in new orleans. it has 3:55 gears, is 2wd dark metallic green on roof and middle, lite green on hood and bottom. has xlt chrome package with green tape pinstripes along upper body.it had spruce cloth seat but the man had it recovered factory style in green vinyl.

My 83 F250 was originally Light Spruce with white mid-section, & a Spruce interior/dark green carpet, built in St. Paul, June 83. The previous owner (California) repainted it Dark Spruce/White, looks a lot better than the Light Green, IMO
I haven't found anyone supplying repro interior parts in Spruce, so I will have to respray from something else.
