gear ratio? V10 F250 4X4

Hello,
2000 F250 extended cab long bed Lariat , auto trans, 4 wheel drive.
Only 101,000 miles.
What gear ratio would the differentials have?
Will the door sticker give me an axle code?
It's on a dealers lot and I can't go look at it until Monday morning.
Also who has what gears in your truck? What's good or bad about them?
I have never had 4.30's and would love to hear owners thoughts on that.
Probably be towing light, 5,000 pounds, about 50% of the time.
Thanks!

Look up the axle code on the door sticker then use google or this site's search tool. It's been covered many times.

I tried lots of searches before posting, google leads to a lot of confusing
info. I finally found this post on this site that is very informative;
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...oor-codes.html

This was not accurate: VIN Decoder - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums
It said 3.73, short bed XL, the XL , short bed is wrong so how can you trust the 3.73.

This one seems very accurate, since it actually is a long bed Lariat , and it says 4.30 LS, I'm guessing that's accurate since everything else seems to be.
FordEtis home page

So when I go look at it the door sticker should say C3 .

The vin decoder on this site sucks etis is much better but a few guys have found an error or 2 but it's much more accurate. Yes c3 would be correct for limited slip 4.30's for that year f250. I really wanted to find a factory 4.30 truck but it's near impossible they almost all came with 3.73's so good find.

I've got a 2004 CCLWB F250 w/3.73 on 35s--it needs to be re-geared.

Without a load and 35s it's not very responsive.

I'm planning on putting 4.88s in it this summer/fall.

I have the same set up, does ok with the 3.73 gears but I feel that gears would wake it up when towing heavy weights

Yeah, I had 3.73s originally and I run 35"s, the change to 4.88s made the EX feel like an entirely different, and much better truck! It serves as our dedicated tow rig for our old 9,500lb toyhauler and our current 11,000lb TT, the 35'/4.88 combo gives an effective 4.39 ratio (along with Banks headers and 5Star tunes) which does a great job with the towing chores.
