I have a 99 f-250 with a 7.3 4r100 had to replace the torque converter out new seals and filter
Pulls out awesome and shifts from first to second like a champ then doesn't want to shift to third and when it does it seem like it's slipping
Also one tome the overdrive light was flashing

Hi Rick,

What made you replace the torque converter? If the overdrive off light is flashing there are codes stored, and it really needs to get scanned to find out what the PCM sees wrong. A cheap scanner won't see these codes.

 

The torque converter had a seriously bad rattle transmission performance was good before I dropped it from the truck

 

I wonder if the torque converter failing sent metal into the rest of the transmission and damaged something else. Really need to know those codes to get you any help on this...how's the fluid level?

 

Didn't see anything when I dropped the pan
I'm working on getting the codes my scanner won't pick um up
