I have a 96 f250 with a 7.3 powerstroke and it seems to be shifting funny. Bought truck about a year ago and was shifting funny then but its getting worse and plowing season is coming.
What happens is it kind of fake shifts usually 3 times then dumps into gear (it shifts fine into overdrive) and was worse in hot weather. Im thinking its a torque converter? Truck was a dpw truck and has what looks like a rebuilt tranny when i did a filter and fluid flush. Has anybody else had this problem? Im just looking for solutions before i spend the money on a new converter and labor on dropping the trans. Any input is appreciated!! Thanks- Joe
Is the OD light flashing at all? I'd check the range sensor on the driver side of trans too. When those are out of whack they cause some weird issues. Steve83 on supermotors has a bunch of diagrams and values to follow.
