2001 Crew Rotted out Emissions Canister Tray

Has anyone any clever ideas what to replace the rusted away bracket-tray with that holds the charcoal canister and it's intake box, as the original seems to be unavailable any more? It sits just behind and above the rear end. The original was bolted across the top of the frame just below the box. There has to be hundreds or thousands of these with the same problem still on the road. The hoses and a couple bungies are holding it up at the moment. Not a good situation.

Start patrolling the salvage yards for units that better than yours.
Gong have to guess that the bracket that provide the mount for the canister is riveted on to the frame or maybe take the whole cross brace that reaches to each frame rail

Maybe big hose clamps can maybe work for now in place of the bungies straps. I got one to stay put enough to get home with duck tape for some friends once. They later said it kept everything in place for about a week unit they could address it better. Pretty sure they just used big hose clamps like 6-7".

I'm thinking see if a 2x4 will fit in the area that the now disintegrated tray occupied. If it fits, a couple lag screws should hold it in place and some creative hose clamping may get the mess to stay in place. May have to put some washers between the wood and the frame so water does not collect and rot the frame any quicker than it already is. A spring time job I think.

What about a plastic battery tray? You can cut-shape it. If one is not long enough, use 2.

The real problem is there is no structure to hook said tray to in that area without some type of crossmember on the frame. The project so far consists of the purchase of a treated 1x4 at the lumber yard, not sure yet if that is the way to go though. More study and waiting for this endless winter to end before proceeding. Thanks for the input.
