Mirror
Have a 2005 Mariner with the auto darkening rear view mirror and don't care for it. Can I just swap over to a manual day night type? There is also a compass sensor attached to the arm of the mirror and wasn't sure if that's going to create a problem. It's a factory installed mirror, it works but not fast or dark enough for me.

I'm shooting from the hip on this one, but I would think it's easier to go from the powered one to a standard than from a standard one to a powered one.
I think if this was a change I wanted to make, I would visit a salvage yard and get my hands on the old style mirror, mount and all. Then you can dismantle/compare as required.
One nice thing is that you could look for a mirror assembly with the built in cabin lights. You have the power there already.....
If you meant just changing the mirror glass itself, you would lack the lever to switch from day to night.
