Need help on frame

Hey guys I'm new to the forum but I've been reading for along time. I've searched over and over and can't find the answer. I'm wanting to do a 73-79 with the crown vic swap but I can't find a good short bed 2wd frame. I can find 4wds all day. Would I be able to use a 4wd frame for this swap? I found a rust free 4x4 frame but not sure if they are the same 2wd to 4wdo some say they are some say the gear box mounting is different. Please help thank you.

I would think the frame would work you would be cutting off all the front suspension for the rear not sure. I would think the cross member or the transmission for might be different do to the transfer can. you might look to see if you can transform a 4x2 to a 4X4. then reverse engineer it.

Welcome to FTE.
I can't answer your question, but here are a couple of drawing of the SB 2WD chassis and the S & LB 4WD version. You can compare them.
