Had bags for 9 years. Pump mine up to 50psi when hauling 5th wheel. 0 pressure when not. running 50psi empty(not loaded) is insane. No suspension at all.

never had a problem and love them. Bounce comes from crappy shocks.

You run 0 pressure when empty I thought that would destroy the bags..

Some airbags have bump stops inside of them so that you can run them at 0 pressure without fear of damaging them.

I wonder if mine do, the instructions from Firestone say to keep 5psi in them to keep them from destroying themselves.

If yours say that, then they don't have the bump stops. They are a totally different bag and part number.

It may well very by model. I know my Firestones in the past said to keep them no lower than 5 pounds, I think to reduce the likelihood of chafing the bag.

Yup. I run Zero. They will never bottom, or lose there shape. If they do then I have bigger issues !.
Think about it this way. ZERO psi. stroke it 1/2" x 5 " bore. Think about that, If I am at "0" pressure I go over a whoop bump, My bags will quickly pump them selves up just from compressing. Like I said. 9 years. Look as good as the day I put them on.

Leaving them at 5psi or 10 creates a stiffer ride. 5-10 PSI x 5" bore + 100 to 200pounds approx LBS. EACH

I can take pictures and send in if you want. Best install ever, worth the money.
