Air suspension help

Hello all, I am needing a little help and hope one of you can offer some knowledge.

I recently bought a 2011 F450 KR and it has air bags on rear with 2 air ports on bumper, my questions are 1. Was this a standard option because my manual doesn't address it? 2. Are these operated with the airports or is this an automatic function? It's not hooked up to my aux switches.

Any education will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Dave

They were probably added by a prior owner. If you trace the air lines from each bag, you'll find they probably have a tire-type valve stem for adding and removing air at the end of the line.

The Air Bags had to have been installed by the previous owner.
Having an Air Fill Port for each Bag is common on trucks that carry Slide-in Truck Campers. Their weight always varies from side to side depending on its configuration.

Be sure not to run the bags with 0 preasure
Depending on the brand they will always need 5 to 10 psi at all times
With a good load such as a slide in camper 35 to 55 psi depending on the ride you want

Also some brands of bags you cannot lift the truck by the frame
It needs to be lifted by the axle so as not to stretch the bag to its limits damaging it

Just fill and empty bags from the valve stems on the bumber
They are not a factory option and will not be hooked to any switches unless the previous owner has installed the onboard air
Seeing you have the valve so on the bumper I would say he had not

I find on mine keeping at least 20 psi in them while unloaded takes out a lot of the axle hop that is common in the 450s

Hope this helps
