My wife bought this 2 weeks ago in Marquette MI, license plate is 1971 Colorado which may explain the lack of rust. Good running truck that starts instantly with the push of the button. Wife wants to leave just as it is, no paint, no SBC, just a good running old truck.

It has been converted to 12 volts so no need to deal with that. Needs the temp and fuel gauges fixed, brake lights hooked up to the turn switch and probably a new harness. I'm sure I'll find more things as I go in.

If anybody might by chance recognize this truck please let me know.

Not sure if this is the correct place to post the pics, I'm sure I'll get corrected if it's not

You came to the right place for posting pics. Your pickup is in really nice condition. You might as well start tinkering with it soon! It looks like this pickup has hauled some loads of grain over the years.

Your wife's truck is a gem! The paint has a perfect weathered look to it. Check out the mechanicals then enjoy driving it.

What all the experts above said.... And I will agree. It's in the 'Perfect state of Disrepair'. Your wife has a good eye.

Very cool! I wouldn't change a thing, just get it reliable and safe then drive the heck out of it!

Yep. Everybody ... well to each his own I guess ... but, seems like everybody wants to turn their old truck into a new truck. That one shouldn't need that much to begin with, to have a dependable truck. Ready to drive anywhere.

Looks like the truck should be a nice driver. Is it a V8 or a six?

Posted two interior shots instead of the engine. It's a six and it's as original as the rest of the truck.

I grew up near Marquette. Awesome truck; you're lucky it's in such great shape!

Update

Wife was parked at the local ice cream shop, older gentleman walked up and said he one in the 60's with the same color. Out of the blue he offered exactly what she paid for it. She said no and he offered another 5K still no. I guess she wants to keep it.

Temp gauge sender replaced, seems to run 3/4 on the gauge but infra-red on the radiator and top hose show 170 degrees. The radiator looks original, the fins are clogged with debris on the bottom 1/2 so I'll pull it and send it to the radiator shop this winter.

Now have brake lights after replacing the switch and correcting the wiring at the turn signal switch. Headlamps are back in operation after flying a loose lead on the dimmer switch.

Found a 1 inch hole in the drivers floor that had been patched. I guess it's not rust free but it's not bad for a 70 year old truck.

Next project is the gas gauge. Probably the sender or sunk but that's Sundays project.
