spare parts score, widowmaker rims?
I picked up some spare parts for my truck this weekend. T98 tranny, 1 ton dually rear axle with 4 tube type wheels.
Eventually I'm gonna go through the tranny and swap mine out. My current tranny has a sizeable whine in 3rd and 4th gears. The rear axle has new brake shoes and hardware in it, and excellent drums. I don't know of any sources of new drum, so I'm set on that.
But the rims are questionable. I already have tubeless rims, so I don't need these. They've been blasted and painted already. However, they are solid wheels with solid slip on rings. No slots in either. Are these the widowmakers? I'd sell them if they're not. If they are, they might make good fire rings

The 16" two part DRWs are not widow makers. They have the RHP outer rim that has a solid/unbroken side locking ring. Diagram below. They are not especially rare, but could be needed by a member who has damaged or rusted originals.
The rear drums are another matter. We have a member over on the 48-56 forum looking for them. A link to his thread is attached. Stu

Thanks for the answer Stu I actually posted in the forum for wheels and tires, but didn't hear from you. I'm glad they're not junk, one day someone will need them. Dave contacted me about the drums, I'll need to get them measured to make sure they're in spec. I had originally bought the axle just to get the drums as spares. I've never had mine off since owning this truck. I might be riding drums that are in that shape also!!!
