08 Ford Explorer ABS-Roll Stability-PCM

Took my car in to Ford service department for ABS/RSC light that was causing issues. Ford said I need new front passenger wheel hub, rear brakes and rotors. Paid way more that should have but none the less I did. Drove it about 2 miles from shop and every light starting flashing on the dash, engine completely shut down. Had it towed back to shop and now they say the PMC needs replaced ($1,000 with their "discount") They said there is no link between the ABS/RSC and the PCM and won't cover. Any one have suggestions or help, I need it! 2008 Ford Explorer XLT V6 (110,000miles)

I'd suggest you start by replacing the battery. With the truck being a 2008 it's probably due for its 3rd battery by now. The electrical systems in these newer vehicles are very sensitive to having a strong charging system. Lately it seems that 3 years is about all the time you should expect to get out of battery.

The dealership is mostly correct in stating that there is no correlation between the engine issues and the ABS/RSC issue, but if they managed to run the battery dead or something during their repair, then it would further support that you're due for a new battery. At any rate, given the sequence of events and the symptoms you currently have, I'd start by replacing the battery. At a minimum it's preventive maintenance against other issues, even if it doesn't fix this one.
