ABS Light
Way out in left field and it may not solve your problem but you may also want to have the battery checked! I have read on several occassions of owners having similar problems with their ABS that were somehow resolved with a new battery. Also, I have a 99' that now has 89,000 miles but for the last 5,000 miles, I had experienced intermittent activation of the ABS light which could be extinguished if I turned the truck off and then on again. In an effort to cure this, I did replace the front brake pads and rotors and bled the system. Despite the fact that the brakes were better than ever, I still experienced intermittent activations of the ABS caution light.
About a month ago, we got our first serious cold spell which mildly zapped the battery since it barely had enough oomph to start the truck. I had it checked at an Interstate Battery store and found it was indeed time to replace it. When I replaced the battery, I also ended up replacing the "+" battery terminal connector because it had experienced severe deterioration due to a build up of scale/corrosion on the terminal. Although I can not explain the correlation, since replacing the battery I have not had a repeat of the problem.
