got old pieces of gasket in oil pan

When I replaced my timing cover I scraped the oldgasket off some got past the rag I had over the timing chain. What could I do to get it out

How big of pieces are we talking about? Was this cork gasket or ?

Ouch. Its going to be hard. Best to drop the pan and get it all cleaned out. I don't play around with foreign substances inside the engine.

They weren't big pieces. I dont think its cork gasket doesn't look like it anyway. The new gasket that came with the timing cover would match up to the top holes but at the bottom the gasket gets skinnier and doesn't fit. Is rtv gasket maker ok to use or no.
