California smog check on 08' 6.4L
Hey everyone Im new here to the forums. I have had my 6.4L tuned with a SCT 3015R tuner for the last 2 years. I recently took my tuner off and reloaded the stock tune and reinstalled the DPF filter to get my truck smogged. When I took it in the smog tech said the erg valve hasnt passed yet. I have had no codes show up. I unhooked my batteries and drove 200 miles still with no codes and took it back for a recheck. Still the same problem... Egr valve hasnt passed. Does anyone have any insight on this before I take it to the dealer to reflash the computer.
Thank you
Thank you

makes no sense to me. have you had a regen yet? You may need to do that.
A clogged EGR would throw a code.
A regen cycle will certainly use the EGR valve.
Perhaps this person does not know what they are doing. It should just be a quick check with plugging into the port and reading the vitals.

The truck is throwing a P1000 code because it has not completed a drive cycle. There are EGR valve parameters as well that their scanners read.
You DO need to complete a regen before all of the codes will clear. Drive cycle codes do not set a cel or wrench/limp mode so without a monitor or scanner you won't know it. If you clear codes (depending on the scanner you use) it can set a p1000 as well. Generally though its when you retune the truck that it sets.
