Engine removal

I am going to remove the engine from the truck today and would like to pull engine and tranny together out.I have never done it with a powerstroke and I am wondering if I have the clearance to do it?

You better have one hell of a hoist. The engine is a 1000lbs by it self. If you're going up and out you'll have to lift up about 10'
If you removed the core support you can come straight out with both.

I have pulled several, and I recommend pulling the engine separate. If you have a manual trans, it has to be dropped and the clutch and flywheel removed before you can pull the engine, unless you remove the core support.
