Engine Removal

Any tips or tricks to removing and replacing a 4.0 in a 2000 Ranger? Helping a coworker, and would like to know if I need to take the front apart and slide it forward. I am taking the trans mission out with it.

Thanks

ive never pulled a engine along with the trans, but i have pulled them seperatly. it goes without saying to get the hood out of the way, removing the whole front clip would probly makes things easier, but those bottom bolts holding the front core support to the frame could be a headache themselves.

Well its a 5 speed and I really don't want to have to put it up and deal with the clutch and the flywheel under the truck... would there be enough room to pull both out? I would like to do this with the least amount of time, because it will be in my garage, and will be taking up my race car spot...

Anything that I should be aware of before I start?

It will be much, much easier to just leave the trans in place and unbolt it from the engine. If you are set on pulling them as a pair, prepare to start unbolting front end parts including the condenser.
