Get a Hayne's manual for now before you go nuts. It's written based on mechanics tearing the car down completely and engine removal procedures are in there as well. It comes with pictures, and if you've never done this before, I'd read as much as possible before I went nuts.
i recommend the haynes as well. its very much worth the money. but here are some basic steps...
1. remove any and all fluids and battery
2. remove radiator
3. remove accesories off the the front of engine
4. take out starter
5. get a jack for the transmition if not pulling with the engine
6. put something on top of the engine so nothing falls in engine
7. hook up cherry picker
8. lift slightly and take out the motor mounts
9. check and see what all is hooked up
10. unhook transmission if not pulling (auto = just unbolting, and then u can pull the flywheel if you choose)
11. pull gently and it should come without a fight
