I flushed the system, twice. 12 gallons of distilled water to flush.

Final fill 50/50 Gold/distilled water.

Looks like Ford has changed the color of Gold to "tea" green.

At least you know what is truly in there. I would keep this thread and documentation as well.

Agreed.

Hopefully others will know that Gold is Tea Green now.

I might start another thread with just the flush and coolant color change.

I would bet money that you had green coolant added, if you look at your old picture and your new picture they aren't even close to the same color. Just my opinion

You're right...

That's why I ended up flushing the system myself. After they put Green in and told they flushed it, I didn't trust them. Especially when they said, and I quote, "we remove the old coolant through the degas bottle, by sucking it out".

I told them they didn't know what the heck they're talking about. You can't suck out the coolant through the degas bottle... And I went on to explain why. Ever see that stupid look on someone's face, that's what I got... From their Sr. Master Tech no less.

It takes me the entire day to flush this thing. From the removal of the old coolant by draining the radiator, both block drains (one requires the removal of the starter). Re-fill the system with distilled water, run for 5-10 miles, let it cool. Re-drain the system, add more distilled water, run 5-10 miles again, let cool, drain and finally re-fill with 50-50...

I'm running a coolant filter, I'm planning to open it and see what it looks like. I've had the coolant filter on my truck since it had 10 miles... The first 4 filters picked up quite a bit of material, sand, etc. The last 3 have been perfectly clean.

I haven't met or spoken to one Ford dealer that follows the coolant flush procedure stated by Ford.

Side by side comparison: White bottle Gold and red bottle Gold.

Looks pretty close... Slightly more yellowish tint from the red bottle.
