hey i have the red coolant in my truck and i dont know if the addative has been added or what. Where can i get the test strips at? also how much do they cost? are they easy to use? thanks
Your truck is a 99 so it should of had green coolant. The red or gold coolant is extended life coolant and is not compatble with the seals in that engine. You need to flush your cooling system, get low silicate antifreeze and FW-16 additive.
When I changed my coolant I didn't relize the PSD was so picky, and I put the wrong stuff in it... I drained out the new coolant, researched the recommended specs, and put Max Life , made by Valvoline in it with FW-16 additive. According to their Web site, Max Life match recommended specs...I'm not going to drain it again ...

does anyone know what seals are involved and what it would take to replace them ? i have had the red coolant in for 2 years and everthing seems to be holding up. F250 born july 98.
Does anyone know what kind of coolant is a 01' PSD? It is getting to be that time to change mine and I don't want to buy the wrong kind. Also what is a good brand to get?
